The Sunday dispatch

One email a week: a line worth keeping, an author worth an evening, and the books readers are picking up. Sign up on the home page; one click confirms it is really you.

Getting started

Pick an author on the Library tab and send a message. No account is needed. Six authors are free to chat with; the rest, along with round-table conversations between two or three authors, are part of Premium.

Premium and billing

Premium is a subscription managed by Apple. To see or cancel it, open the App Store app, tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions. If you were charged but Premium did not unlock, tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the paywall or in Settings. Still stuck? Email us with the date of the charge and we will sort it out.

Chats and memory

Your conversations are saved per author and per device. Each author keeps short memory notes about what you have told them; you can read and delete these from the author's profile page. To erase everything, sign out in Settings and then delete the app.

Sound

Every author has a distinct speaking voice. Tap the speaker icon on any message to hear it read aloud. You can turn on automatic reading for all replies in Settings.

Something broken?

If a reply never arrives, check your connection and try again; replies are generated live and occasionally take a few seconds. If the app crashes or behaves oddly, email us with what you were doing and your device model. Screenshots help a lot.
